Want to make a difference in the world you are living in? Ever felt the need to help people less privileged than you? Or do you want to be part of one of the coolest NGOs in India? This is your chance. Make A Difference(MAD) is recruiting once again.

Make a Difference(or MAD) is an NGO of young volunteers working to providing quality education to many unprivileged children. MAD began four years ago in Cochin. In a few years, we have spread to ten cites in India and teach over 2500 children. We provide an easy platform for college students and young professionals to reach out and make a difference.

MAD volunteers teach English and computer to kids in orphanages, street shelters, poor homes, and other child-support establishments. The syllabus MAD uses focuses on communication skills, computer skills and personality development.

One day, the police come and say Bernard murdered a FACTORY OWNER. Superintendent Guiboud asks Michel for help. But Michel realizes how little he knows about his son. He also starts to feel he is unable to blame his son.

EPLFC aka Ernakulam Public Library Film Club will be publicly screening Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket on 8^th August, 2010(Sunday) at 10:00 AM.

Plot

Full Metal Jacket begins by following the trials and tribulations of a platoon of fresh Marine Corps recruits focusing on the relationship between Gunnery Sergeant Hartman and Privates Pyle and Joker. We see Pyle grow into an instrument of death as Hartman has forseen of all of his recruits. Through Pyle’s torment and Joker’s unwillingness to stand up against it the climax of part one is achieved with all three main characters deciding their fates by their action or inaction. The second chapter of Full Metal Jacket delves into Joker’s psyche and the repeated referal to the fact that he joined the Corps to become a killer. When his mostly behind the scenes job as a combat correspondant is interfered with by the Tet offensive he is thrust into real combat and ultimately must choose if he really is a killer.

Plot

Based upon the true story of Olga Benrio, the German-born wife of Brazilian communist leader Lus Carlos Prestes. During the dictatorship of Getlio Vargas (1930-1945) she was arrested and sent to Nazi Germany, where she was put to death in a concentration camp. After World War II began, Vargas decided to uphold the Allies.
